In 2013, Dr. Shreyash Gajjar was the first in India to perform All- Arthroscopic surgical treatment for this condition. It is seen in Adolescent children usually engaged in sporting activities wherein a portion of the growing bone fails to unite with the main shin bone. The presenting complaints are pain, swelling especially with sporting activities. Surgery aimed at removing the ununited piece of bone is indicated when non- surgical treatment i.e. rest, medicines, physiotherapy fail. Surgery which is commonly performed by an open approach can result in painful scars and longer recovery time. An All- Arthroscopic technique eliminates these complications allowing quicker recovery & restores function.
